  • Q. I don’t specialise in sales – what benefits of becoming an NAEA members are there for me?
    A. The NAEA are the only professional body in the property industry to encourage membership from all areas of expertise in the property industry.
    Benefits of membership for letting, commercial and auctioneer specialists include:

    Q. How do I become a member of the NAEA?
    A. Simply request a membership application pack from the Membership and Professional Development department on 01926 417790 or download the application form from www.naea.co.uk.

    In order to establish which grade of membership for which you would be eligible, please ensure that you read the Notes for Applicants guide. Please complete and return the application form with full and correct payment ensuring that you have completed all relevant areas. If you have any queries regarding the NAEA application process please do not hesitate to contact the Membership and Professional Development department on 01926 417790.

    Principals, partners and directors:
    must enclose a copy of their Professional Indemnity Insurance, Accountant’s report and where applicable (those who deal in letting and management) must pay a Client Money Protection Levy.
    Q. What is Client Money Protection?
    A. The NAEA automatically assumes that if you are involved in letting and management, you are holding clients’ money.
    CMP is designed to reimburse clients and tenants of members who have suffered financial loss due to the dishonesty of the member and/or their firm. The levy for the CMP will be collected with you subscription fee and is due annually with your NAEA membership renewal.

    The current cost for CMP is dependant upon which grade of membership you hold:
    Students members£300pa
    Members and Fellows£82pa

    The levy for student members is charged at a higher rate, as student grade members are not qualified agents.

    Q. How long does it take to become a member?
    A. Providing you included all relevant documentation with your completed application form, we can process your application within 7 days.
